The
Southern Plainsmen Quartet was organized in May 1978 in
the rolling pine-hills of West-Central Louisiana and is
an outreach of the Southern Plainsmen Ministries, Inc.,
a non-profit Christian organization. The ministry,
supported by the contributions of its Christian friends,
appears in Christian churches regardless of
denominational affiliation on an expense plus
freewill-love-offering basis.

Mike
Smith, 55 years old, of Cenchrea Community, near Florien, LA,
lost his life in an automobile accident, Wednesday, October
17th. Mike was a dear friend, a logging contractor and former
manager, and talented lead-singer for The Golden Stairs, a local
Southern Gospel group.
His Home-going was celebrated at
The Cenchrea Church of the Nazarene, Friday at 2 PM with Bros.
Brooks Coburn and Wayne Chance officiating. His kind and
winning nature was evident in the standing-room-only crowd of
friends and family.
Our prayers
and sympathy are with his wife, Bonnie, son Russell and daughter
Arlee.
